My everyday makeup routine consists of 16 products. Before judging that excessive number, hear me out. These 16 products work—and I mean really work. I definitely don’t put a face of makeup on every single day, but when I’m in the mood to get ready, this is my current go-to routine. Keep scrolling for the full rundown of products and a full tutorial on my everyday makeup routine.
Tips to achieve a snatched face
- Fake tan This tip isn’t mandatory for achieving a snatched makeup look, but I do feel more confident when my body and face are bronzed. Any pimples, scars or other impurities on my face seem to disappear when I put tanning products on. After lathering my body with a tanning mouse or lotion, I always tan my face by mixing four drops of Tanologist Tanning Drops with my moisturizer. These drops melt right into my skin and leave my face with a fresh sun-kissed look.
- Peach fuzz, begone! A hairless face makes for a smooth canvas. But hey, if you love your peach fuzz, keep rocking it. I personally think my skin looks its best under makeup when I shave. To shave my upper lip, I use the Flawless by Finishing Touch Instant and Painless Hair Remover tool. For the rest of my face, I use Tinkle Eyebrow Razors. It’s so satisfying to use these razors and see all the dead skin and hair come off with a painless swipe. Neither of these products make my hair grow back darker or thicker.
- Skincare first Moisturizing your face and neck is a must before applying makeup. Your moisturizer acts as a barrier between your makeup and skin and helps protect it from makeup sinking deeper into your pores. Don’t forget to lather on a face sunscreen prior to starting your makeup. My favorite is EltaMd Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 because it leaves behind zero white cast and gives my skin a healthy dewy appearance.
Makeup Products
Primer: e.l.f Poreless Putty Primer
As soon as Jeffree Star gave e.l.f’s Poreless Putty Primer his stamp of approval, it sold like hot cakes. The makeup mogul even went as far to compare it to the very iconic (and pricey) Tatcha The Silk Canvas primer. That was enough for me to want to get my hands on the putty primer and try it out for myself. Three tubes of it later, it’s safe to say I’m in love with this $8 primer. My pores have never looked smaller and more smooth.
Foundation: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
The creme de la creme of foundations. Nothing tops Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Talk about a flawless finish! My skin has never looked better when wearing this lightweight foundation. This foundation graces my face with a beautiful dewy finish while camouflaging any acne or scars. If there’s one makeup product everyone needs to try in their lifetime, it’s this one.
Concealer: e.l.f Camo Concealer
Finally, a drugstore concealer that performs just as well as the beloved NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I have to say, e.l.f has been killing it with its recent makeup products. The e.l.f Camo Concealer hides any and all pimples, scars and dark circles. This $6 concealer blends like a dream and refuses to crease after an all-day wear.
Contour Stick: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick
Maybelline’s Fit Me collection contains so many of my holy grail makeup products. I love using the Fit Me Foundation Stick as a cream contour on my cheeks and temples to snatch my face and emphasize those features. It blends beautifully with a sponge and is easy to build if you want a more defined contour.
Setting Powder: Airspun Loose Face Powder
“Baking” the concealer under my eyes is the only way I prevent creasing. Airspun Loose Face Powder is my saving grace when it comes to keeping my concealer in place and in check. It’s very similar to Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder—one of my favorites—except Airspun’s is nicer on the wallet.
Eyebrow Pencil + Gel
Thanks to my dad, I have thick, full brows. They’re definitely my favorite face feature. Because my brows are already full, I don’t do much to them. I fill in the arches and any other sparse areas with the L’Oreal Stylist Designer Eyebrow Pencil and stick them in place with Maybelline’s Fast Sculpting Brow Gel. I’ve repurchased both of these products again and again because they’re that good. The pencil features a fine tip that can be sharpened, giving you a precise and sharp tip each use. Instead of weighing down your eyebrows, Maybelline’s Fast Sculpting Brow Gel lightly coats each hair and allows you to style them any way you wish.
Face Powder: Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Powder
Another product from Maybelline’s Fit Me collection. The Matte and Poreless Powder pairs perfect over the Luminous Silk foundation. I never leave the house without this powder in my purse. It’s great for touchups and keeping those oily areas flawlessly matte without a cakey finish.
Bronzer: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
Name a better bronzer, I’ll wait. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer continues to place first each time I attempt to find a better bronzer. This bronzer gives my face that stunning sun-kissed glow everyone craves. The name of this bronzer speaks for itself—its application is buttery, smooth and streak-free.
Blush: NARS Orgasm Blush
Blush has become my favorite step in my everyday makeup routine, thanks to this product. NARS Orgasm Blush blesses my cheekbones with the most glamorous iridescent pink. I don’t know how else to describe this blush other than elegant. Instead of placing this product directly on the apples of my cheeks, I sweep the blush in an upwards motion right above my bronzer for a needless face lift (I’m not kidding). This application process makes your blush appear more natural.
Highlighter: e.l.f Baked Highlighter
This highlighter is by no means blinding, so if that’s your vibe, then keep scrolling. I love how natural the e.l.f Baked Highlighters are. Usually, I’m not one to fancy a highlighter that’s not ultra pigmented, but I keep reaching for this one lately. I swipe this highlighter in an upwards motion on the tops of my cheekbones and down my nose for a nice natural glow.
Eyeliner: Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner
This liner is the best for beginners who want to try winged liner. I love everything about this product—it’s as black as black, has a super fine tip and doesn’t bleed throughout the day. I’m not perfect at drawing wings by any means, but this liner certainly makes it easier.
Crease Shadow & Inner Eye Corner
One of my favorite makeup hacks is using bronzer for the eye crease color. It’s a great way to add dimension to your eyes while warming up the lid. For the inner eye corner, I popped in one of Sephora’s Colorful Eyeshadows in the shade “Twinkle Twinkle.” I mean come on, that inner eye highlight is impossible to ignore.
Mascara: L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara
Finally, a mascara that’s lengthening, non-clumpy and doesn’t bleed. The L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara is an oldie, but a goodie. The wand does an exceptional job coating each lash and fanning them out to perfection.
Lipstick + Gloss
Last but certainly not least, the lips. I add color to my lips using Maybelline’s Color Sensational Creme Lipstick in “Almond Hustle,” a gorgeous pinky peach shade. Then, I swipe a couple coats of Essence Shine Shine Shine Lip Gloss. If you know me, then you know I can’t leave the house without my lip gloss.
